In the fall of 2021, I enrolled in a course taught by poet Laura Cronk at The New School’s Schools of Public Engagement Writing Program, titled Life Writing: Poetry and Prose. Ever since I have been drawn to this documentary approach to writing and, in turn, living, emphasizing via noticing the ephemera of moments and memories in the day to day. Inspired by writers such as Bernadette Mayer, Annie Ernaux, Audre Lorde, and Maggie Nelson, life writing has changed the way I walk through the world: more present and attune to fleeting details, overheard conversations, strange sensations, excerpts of texts and the memories they evoke. Here you will find many of my journal-like prosaic and poetic entries, as well as older work that fits into the genre of life writing. As I continue to experiment with the practice, new work is uploaded on a monthly basis.
